Leviticus 22:2 “Speak to Aharon and his sons, that they separate themselves from the set-apart offerings of the children of Yisraʼĕl, and that they do not profane My set-apart Name in what they set apart to Me. I am יהוה.
Ezekiel 36:23 “And I shall set apart My great Name, which has been profaned among the gentiles, which you have profaned in their midst. And the gentiles shall know that I am Yahweh,” declares the Master Yahweh, “when I am set-apart in you before their eyes.
Ezekiel 39:7 “And I shall make My set-apart Name known in the midst of My people Yisraʼĕl, and not let My set-apart Name be profaned any more. And the gentiles shall know that I am יהוה, the Set-apart One in Yisraʼĕl.
Matthew 18:5 “And whoever receives one little child like this in My Name receives Me.
Matthew 18:20 “For where two or three are gathered together in My Name, there I am in their midst.”
Mark 13:13 “And you shall be hated by all because of My Name. But he who shall have endured to the end, he shall be saved.
John 14:13 “And whatever you ask in My Name, that I shall do, in order that the Father might be esteemed in the Son.
John 14:14 “If you ask whatever in My Name, I shall do it.
John 14:26 “But the Helper, the Set-apart Spirit, whom the Father shall send in My Name, He shall teach you all, and remind you of all that I said to you.
Romans 9:17 For the Scripture says to Pharaoh, “For this same purpose I have raised you up, to show My power in you, and that My Name be declared in all the earth.”
Revelation 2:13 “I know your works, and where you dwell, where the throne of Satan is. And you hold fast to My Name, and did not deny the belief in Me, even in the days in which Antipas was My trustworthy witness, who was killed near you, where Satan dwells.
These are just a few verses in the scriptures that talk about the Creator's Name. As I read through these and the others I didn't post I realized that His Name was important.
Most of us use a title rather than His Name. God, Lord, Elohim, Adonai - these are all titles and often used by pagan gods as well as the Creator. It can get pretty confusing out there in "god" land with people using a title for who they mean as god but the person listening thinks they are talking about their god. For example: Christian man is talking to a Buddist man. Christian man says God is great. He means the Creator. Buddist man agrees but he means a completely different god.
This leads to miscommunication and a watering down of who the Creator really is. Hmmmm.....do you think that is what s.a.tan has planned all along? The evil one loves confusion and deception. He has successfully gotten us to use a generic title for the Creator instead of using His Name and the scriptures tell us that through the Name shall we be saved.
We need to know and use our Father's Name when we speak to Him and speak about Him. Not only will it differentiate Him from the pagan gods but we will be in compliance with scripture.
So what is His Name. Of course the plan of the evil one is to confuse us on that as well. We know that for the Father there are 4 letters of the Hebrew alphabet. Yahweh. We don't know that the middle letters are so we have to make our best guess. Some go by Yahweh and some by Yehovah or even Yahovah. After much reading on the subject I personally go by Yahweh but know some who go by the others and I believe that He knows our heart on the matter and since there is no real evidence either way we shouldn't worry that point. I do know, however, that using the letter "J" instead is incorrect as that letter didn't even appear in language until after 1300 A.D.
The shortened name for Him is Yah. You will find that in many Hebrew words such as HalleluYAH, meaning Praise Yah.
The correct name for our Messiah is Yahshua. It also contains the name YAH. It is His true Hebrew name. The name Jesus is a pagan name from a pagan god and was transferred to the Messiah during the council of Nicene to help the pagans accept the new state religion of Christianity.
How would you like it if your name was Michael and you traveled to another country and they decided that Michael was not a name common to that country so they called you Jardin instead? It doesn't have the same meaning, the same sound, the same anything. I don't think you would like it.
Or let's say they continually called you son instead of by your name. In my case instead of calling me Kathe I was called mom, wife, sister, daughter, etc. It would get pretty frustrating. Not only that but how does that make me any different from any other mom, wife, sister or daughter out there. We differentiate our God from all of the pagan god's by His Name.
Also, as the verse above says. In the name is your power, your protection and your salvation. Seems to me some pretty good reasons why we should use His Name rather than a title.
Father Yahweh thank you for the understanding and knowledge that you have given to me. I pray that continues as well as the wisdom and discernment needed to accomplish Your will. I pray that you open the eyes and ears of true followers to know that truth of Your Holy Name. I pray that you are blessed through the use of Your Name. Amen.
